Mediation Training

As you have already been informed, that to become a Mediator, one need to undergo a 40

hours training, so in this blog I will try to enlighten you about the rules, procedures, duration and various institutes and organisations along with approximate costs for undergoing various courses of mediation training. 

v The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has lately constituted a committee, called ‘The Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee’, which looks after the mediation movement throughout India. The Hon’ble Committee has various prescribed Courses and other related programmes regarding Mediation. Some of these are:-

(i)                40 hours Mediation Training;

(ii)             20 hours Capsule Course;

(iii)           20 hours Refresher Course;

(iv)            Referral Judges Training Course, etc.

All these training courses are generally conducted in coordination with the concerned High Courts and/or State Legal Services Authorities and  by far all of these courses are absolutely free of cost as the Hon’ble Supreme Court and High Court Committees and/or  State Legal Services Authorities  bear all the expenditure in this regard and the candidates/participants need not have to  pay anything to undergo these courses.

v Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India, also conducts a 45 hours Training on Commercial Mediation & Negotiation. It is a 6 days programme. The course fee is about Rs. 42,480/- for the  Indian nationals and  USD $625 for the international participants. v Edawrds Mediation Academy, 1550g Tiburon Blvd #623, Belvedere Tiburon, CA 94920, United States has their online –

 

(i)                40 hours Mediation Skills Course;

(ii)             45 hours Advance Mediation Course;

(iii)           35 hours Mediation Skills, India Course;

(iv)            30 hours Mediation Advocacy Course; etc.

v Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation conducts 40 hours – 5days Professional Mediator Training Programme. Fee for the course currently is Rs. 45,000.00 (Indian participants) | US$ 750.00 (NRI participants & participants from SAARC Region) | US$ 845.00 (Foreign participants) + 18% GST.
